Based on my research over the last week, Amazon seems to have started a major crackdown on Amazon sellers.
Unfortunately in some cases sellers were hit who should not have been suspended. Many people’s life depends on their business they build on Amazon over many years.
90% of seller accounts were blocked without any warning. For many sellers Amazon is the main source of income. I even spoke with people who were under so much pressure they even had to take some antidepressant drugs.
Getting answers from Amazon why they banned the account is virtually impossible. There also no appeals process in place to get your Amazon suspension reviewed. After I gave up on my old account I opened a new Amazon seller account.
Within 2 days after I opened the new account I received the below email:
Hello from Amazon. We are writing to let you know that we have removed your selling privileges. We took this action because our records indicate that this account is related to another selling account that was closed by Amazon. Once selling privileges have been removed, sellers are not allowed to establish new accounts. Due to the proprietary nature of our business, we do not provide detailed information on how we determine that accounts are related. While we appreciate your interest in selling on Amazon.com, the closure of this account is a permanent action. Regards, Seller Performance Team Amazon.comIt was such a nightmare, I created new accounts and within days they all got suspended again. I tried so hard to get my business back. But it almost seemed impossible. I tried selling on eBay before without success. Seller fees were always higher than the actual profit I made with each product I sold.
Unfortunately there does not seem to be any real alternative to Amazon.
I tried to appeal Amazons decision to suspend my account. But I had no luck. To be honest with you. I don’t even think they ever really considered reinstating my account.
My impression is, all those very popular internet companies e.g. Google, eBay etc. got really arrogant. They just started treating people very bad.
